MacBook Pro and UPS

My MacBook Pro arrived earlier this week and i’ve been using it since. Although i’ll probably talk about the MacBook Pro itself later on, i just wanted to mention my experience with UPS.

Clarifi Arrives

After waiting for a while, I managed to order a Griffin Clarifi off Amazon. It arrived and was placed on my iPhone.

The case itself manages to cover the important bits of the iPhone while allowing direct access to components, so there’s no flaps to change volume or anything like that. It also came with a screen protector, which I won’t be putting on.

Griffin Technology: Clarifi

Griffin Technology: Clarifi.

May be an interesting product to acquire. I may have to look into purchasing one once they come out in the UK.

Coda

Recently, i’ve been using a piece of software called Coda. Coda is a very pretty, web developer application developed by a company called Panic. It’s not open source, or free but i think it’s worth paying for.

To steal Panic’s tagline

Text editor + file transfer + svn + CSS + Terminal + Books + More = Whoah.

Welcome to Coda. Grow beautiful code.

It supports quite a few languages. For these langages it offers code completion, as well as a helpful “Hints” feature which can be seen at the bottom of the window.

Losing the Tool Bar

Sometimes it’s just nicer to have nothing in your browser but the page. In Safari/WebKit, this can be completed using either the Menu Bar or using Command + Shift + \.

This hides the Tool Bar. However, you’re obviously going to still need to access the Address Bar and you may need to access the Search Bar. This can be done using the keyboard shortcuts Command + L and Command + Alt + F respectively.

These shortcuts make the Tool Bar appear but only until the page changes. Another nice feature.

The Back and Forward functions can be completed with Command followed by either the left arrow or the right arrow.

Overall, a nice touch which should help those of you with smaller screens to see more of the web page.

One of the Best Chain E-mails I’ve Ever Received

I received this in an e-mail from one of my friends, and I thought I’d put it up for debate, I think it’s funnily accurate about Microsoft though!
