To Be* or not to Be*.

I’ve finally had my broadband installed.

Upon receiving my text message that my line had been activated, i plugged in the Bebox.

If you read the installation manual for the Bebox, the instructions follow this theme:

  1. Get Bebox
  2. Plug Bebox in
  3. ???
  4. Be happy

However, i was not happy. My Bebox didn’t seem to be working.

Me.com, where have you gone?

I saw the site for a few hours earlier, it seems to have disappeared now.

It didn’t work too well in the latest WebKit, but it worked really well in Safari.

The interface seemed to work well. Please can i have you back?

Me.com

Leading up to the introduction of MobileMe in several hours, i thought it would test my @me.com address.

It works! There was a slight delay, but it definitely sent me an email.

T-Mobile Wireless Broadband

So i’m now in my new house, and using the wireless modem i’ve managed to borrow.

So, speed tests:

I get about 45kB/s down and about 7 kB/s up.

T-Mobile, please stop lying to me.

So as i said before, i have managed to borrow a wireless modem while i’m moving house. However, due to the package i was on, it was going to cost £4 a day.

Previously, when moving house, i had used a T-Mobile wireless card, and only paid £1 a day. So i thought i must need a different SIM card for a different package.

I went to the local T-Mobile shop. Upon asking the person at the desk for a £1 a day SIM for a modem, i was told that i could either have a contract one, at £15 a month for 18 months, or a PAYG one, at £4 a day.
