Hackintosh is now 10.5.4.

Using the new 9.4.0 modbin kernel. I’ve now updated my Hackintosh to 10.5.4.

I haven’t seen anywhere else that says how to install the whole update, rather than just the kernel, so i’ll say how i did it.

  1. Download the 10.5.4 update (either should be fine).
  2. Using pacifist, install everything but the mach_kernel and /System/Library/Extensions/System.kext.
  3. Then follow the instructions on the site above.
  4. Reboot. I found that when i rebooted, i had a kernel panic at shutdown. A simple power off, power on fixed this and i’m now running 10.5.4.
Hope this helps.

Great response from O2

I went onto O2’s contact form and asked the question,

Would you be able to tell me when the 16 gigabyte iPhone 3G is being released?

Later that day i got a response,

Thanks for emailing us about new iPhone 3G.
I’m sorry but I’m unable to tell you when the white iPhone 3G 16 GB will be released.

So there you have it. I’m not allowed to know when the white iPhone 3G will be coming out.

To Be* or not to Be*.

I’ve finally had my broadband installed.

Upon receiving my text message that my line had been activated, i plugged in the Bebox.

If you read the installation manual for the Bebox, the instructions follow this theme:

  1. Get Bebox
  2. Plug Bebox in
  3. ???
  4. Be happy

However, i was not happy. My Bebox didn’t seem to be working.

Being the girlfriend of a geek

I have been told that the theme of this blog is computing and computer related topics. However, behind the computers are geeks, and for every geek, there is a woman who knows how to deal with them. Therefore I hope to interest you; the significant others of geeks everywhere, by writing a few blogs of my own.
