A white 16 gigabyte iPhone 3G. That is all i want from O2.

Now, can i actually get that? Who knows? Well, apparently not O2.

I got a text like everyone else on Monday morning. I managed to enter my debit card details 3 times, each time being served a rejection or an error message. This is over a cumulative time period of 5-6 hours. 

I’ve been into my local O2 store and asked if the store would be open longer hours for the phone. I was told “no, it’s just a normal business day”.

Since then, i have been told, by the same O2 store, that they will be open from 8 till 6. However, my belovéd white iPhone 3G would not be available. 

However, the talk on some forums is that the white one will be available in certain stores.

I would settle for a black one, but not an 8 gigabyte model. 

Please can someone just give a public announcement of what will really be happening?

Something like this, but more specific in places. For example, explaining when the different iPhones will be available, and where it might be available.
