Hackintosh 10.5.3

I am now running MacOS 10.5.3 on all my machines.

I found the 10.5.3 Kalyway Combo Update on the ‘net. Downloaded it, followed the instructions

and Boom, now running 10.5.3, kernel 9.3.0.

I haven’t noticed a difference yet, but yey.

iTunes Tip

Have you ever been scrolling through your music library and wanted to find the next song on the album. But it’d take you ages to re-find the song.

iTunes, like Safari, has SnapBack. This’ll take you straight back to the song.

Mac OS 10.5.3

The update is now out.

They seemed to have played with the network settings. So i’ve been playing with them. Still can’t work out what each of the settings is meant to do.

Apart from that, i haven’t noticed any really differences.

VPN on the iPhone

So a friend and i were looking at what was to come with the iPhone SDK. He’s recently started looking for a new phone, and he finds that the ability to VPN would be a preferable feature.

At the moment, he’s been using Hamachi and OpenVPN but as we were looking through the iPhone settings we only found L2TP and PPTP.

So he hacked up a quick L2TP/IPSec VPN and gave me the details. Of course, it didn’t work. So he started fooling around with settings.

Handbrake on Windows

I’ve just been teaching someone how to use Handbrake on Windows.

Although the interface isn’t as pretty as the Mac version, it still seems to do the job.
Overall, i am impressed with the whole of Handbrake, it seems to do ipod/iphone encoding very well.

I shall inspect in around 2 hours.

Over 2 hours later: The video looks as good as the Mac version. Although the film content (St. Trinians) is rubbish the quality of the rip is very good.

Blogging from the iPhone

Thanks to some inventors, I now have an iPhone admin theme and a iPhone normal theme. Hopefully, this means more blogging will be available.
